A Few Words About Us

Humboldt County African Violet Society is a non-profit organization affiliated with the African Violet Society of America (AVSA).

In addition to sharing our interest in growing better violets, our topics for meetings include growing for show, propagation, pest and disease management, and light hearted fellowship. Many of our members also have other related horticultural interests. Our metings are always welcome to visitors and new members.

Regular meetings are held the second Thursday of each month at the Christ Episcopal Church in Fortuna on 16th and L Streets. We meet at 1:00 and typically have a topic for discussion as well as open discussion and many times special guests.

Please feel free to visit us.

What We Do

HCAVS also acts as a resource for local youth groups like 4-H and other like minded horticultural clubs.

Our website is VERY new, but we hope to post our meeting notes in this section once we get things more established 'virtually'.
